Our Story

One Community’s founders, Kellie Puxty and Shelley Youman, were working together in the NDIS space when they quickly realised there was a gap in the system: Participants and NDIS service providers needed a more effective and efficient way to connect with each other.

One Community was born to address this gap through our Ready-Set-Connect networking events held across Australia. We now have more than 300 events under our belt and have facilitated thousands of provider/Participant connections.

Helping people live their best lives is what drives us. We seek to support both NDIS Participants and the disability service sector, and we believe this is best achieved through creating connections and shared learning.

While the NDIS service sector is doing some excellent work having a tangible and significant impact on people’s lives, there is always room for improvement.

With this in mind, we are staging the annual Australian Disability Service Conference and Awards (ADSCA). The idea for the Awards and the Conference came from discussions with our One Community members about their achievements and shared challenges.

This will be the unique, as it encompasses all sides of the disability service sector. It is our hope that the event will help strengthen, advance, and celebrate the NDIS service industry.
