Why Day's Day Options Program empowers individuals to build social skills, independence and confidence through person-centred activities, fostering community connections. They craft programs where participants can thrive and be valued members of the Whyalla community.
Identified through community feedback, Why Day fills a gap for inclusive group activities and works to address barriers that participants face: reduced number and variety of providers, geographic isolation, economic constraints impacting participation and sponsorship, accessibility issues and social stigma.
"Inspired by Graeme Innes' words, "The four sweetest words a person with disability wants to hear is û you start on Monday", Why Day expanded and created a successful 3D printing business and retail store which provides work experience and employment for people with disability. Why Day continues to innovate to remain sustainable and independent of NDIS funding to ensure future stability for its participants.
