Wallara's Open Employment Program identifies clients seeking open employment and supports them throughout their journey. Using a discovery method, they assess individual career goals and skills while connecting with inclusive organisations known to them.
Post the discovery step, employees are matched with potential employers with supported tours and work trial dates arranged. From a successful trial, the supports required to make the placement successful are identified and discussed with both the employer and client.
The program has greatly boosted client confidence, with many choosing to work 1-2 days in open employment while continuing supported employment at Wallara to maintain social connections. The skills gained in open employment have enabled them to be leaders in their Wallara roles. Their contributions to the open employment culture are well documented.
